Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

The High School Reunion Tournament is over and we are back to regular episodes; Ken Jennings returns to host through April 28. Also returning is 3-day champion Stephen Webb, who won just over $80,000 in his first three games. While Stephen would have had three weeks off in airing time, today’s episode was taped the day following February 17’s episode. Today’s challengers are Jannette Peterson and Nick Lauber.

PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they can, including any boosters as recommended. When wearing a mask, please ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Many Protestants in England were very worried about the actions of the Catholic King James II; James had lost popular support when he suspended Parliament in 1685; however, because the heir at the time was his protestant daughter Mary, the worry was considered a short-term issue. However, the birth of a male heir and further anti-Protestant action by James II caused many in England to invite Mary’s husband, William of Orange (William III) to invade England. James, faced with mass desertion in his army, almost immediately capitulated to the invasion and went into exile in France. The installation of William and Mary as monarchs is now known as the Glorious Revolution in English history and also led to the establishment of the supremacy of Parliament in the United Kingdom.
