In the series finale, "Chosen", Anya fights with the others in the climactic battle against the First Evil and is brutally slain from behind, bisected by a Bringer's sword. Her body lies in the school's remains although Xander attempts to locate her while fleeing the collapsing building.

Emma Chukker, professionally known as Emma Caulfield, was born on April 8, 1973 in San Diego, California to professional singer mother Denise and father Rodney Chukker. She has one sister, Samantha.

First joining the cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in season 3, Emma Caulfield portrayed Anya. Although the demon character came upon Cordelia's request, Anya eventually became part of the Scooby Gang — and a fan favorite.
